speaker: Kira Taylor is an incoming Environmental Science graduate
student at Western Washington University, with a focus on Fungal Ecology.
She was a 2011 North American Mycological Association voucher student,
and assisted in research being conducted on soil fungi at Indiana University.
She has had a longstanding interest in identifying, cooking, and learning
about the fascinating diversity within Kingdom Fungi, and has foraged for
mushrooms in places as diverse as New Zealand, France, Switzerland, Hawaii,
Colorado, Maine, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Illinois, Indiana,
Pennsylvania, California, and here in glorious Washington state. New
Zealand fungi is of particular interest to her, as she was a member of, and
active participant in the Fungal Network of New Zealand for two years, and
lived in the country off and on for nearly that long. Her topic: The
Fabulous Fungi of New Zealand.

March 31st Foray Message.
Those of you we are planning to go to tomorrows (Saturday, March 31st) foray there is a good chance there won't be much out there. The foray leader scouted the area earlier this week and thought that it was still early. In any case, the foray leader will be at the designated meeting spot tomorrow between 10 and 10:30 AM.
