SCMS Nov 9th and 12th Events

Wednesday, November 9^th: Membership meeting starts at 7:30 PM. Meeting location: Everett Housing Building, 1401 Poplar Street, Everett. Officer Nominations for 2012 and presentation by Greg Hovander. Greg will do one of his mushroom hike talks.

Saturday, November 12^th 2:00 PM:  SCMS, PSMS and Trinity Lutheran College will sponsor a presentation by Paul Stamets at the Historic Everett Theater. 2911 Colby Avenue, Everett, WA  98201. This event will be held on a Saturday. There is no entry fee….but donations are gladly accepted.

October 22nd Foray Cancelled due to forecasted high winds

The wagon-master has requested that Saturday October 22nd Foray be cancelled due to forecasted high winds. Read her message below:

- it is getting windy here today on Camano Island, and they are forecasting stronger winds for tomorrow as well. I feel that it may be unsafe for me to lead the foray tomorrow as planned. The area is on top of a hill, and prone to old trees crashing down on the trails. 

 I would not suggest it because of rain, but the winds can be dangerous. There are not too many mushrooms here this year anyhow - the season started very early and seems to be pretty much over for chanterelles. There as some slippery jacks up there now, but mostly full of worms.
